Maharashtra Weather | The Meteorological Department has forecast the onset of a new spell of cloudy weather and stormy rains—occurring primarily in the afternoons—across the state starting March 30. For Monday, March 30, there is a likelihood of lightning, gusty winds, rain, and—in some isolated places—hailstorms, particularly in the districts of Khandesh, Marathwada, Western Vidarbha, and the Ghat regions of Central Maharashtra. Changes in weather patterns are also expected in the remaining parts of Vidarbha, where the possibility of stormy rains cannot be ruled out either. State Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis shared this information via the social media platform ‘X’.

Compared to Monday, March 30, the intensity of stormy rains is expected to decrease slightly on Tuesday, March 31. However, unstable weather conditions may persist in certain areas. Subsequently, the Meteorological Department has issued a preliminary forecast indicating that the intensity of stormy rains is likely to increase once again between Wednesday, April 1, and Saturday, April 4. During this period, cloudy weather, afternoon stormy rains, and the possibility of hailstorms in isolated locations have been predicted for many parts of Central Maharashtra, Khandesh, Marathwada, and Vidarbha.

Meanwhile, farmers had already suffered significant losses due to unseasonal rains that occurred in the middle of March. Now, fears are being expressed once again regarding the potential adverse impact of these changing weather conditions on agriculture. As the harvesting of Rabi crops is currently underway, the Agriculture Department has appealed to farmers to store their harvested produce in safe locations or make arrangements to keep it covered. Furthermore, they have urged farmers to take all necessary precautions to prevent crop damage caused by gusty winds, rain, and potential hailstorms.
