‘People’s Alliance’ vs. ‘DMK’: The Showdown Begins

Vijay stated, “We have fielded candidates who are capable of providing solutions to the people’s issues. Just as I have sacrificed everything for your sake, I now entrust these candidates to your care. Please grant us this one opportunity.” While making this appeal, he asserted that this election is essentially a direct contest solely between his party and Chief Minister Stalin’s DMK. He further claimed that the DMK’s political alliances are merely a matter of political compromise, whereas his candidates hail from ordinary backgrounds and possess a deep understanding of the common man’s struggles.

A Shower of Promises for Voters

During the event, Vijay unveiled a series of ‘guarantees’ aimed at unemployed youth. These include a monthly stipend of ₹4,000 for unemployed individuals over the age of 29, ₹2,500 per month for diploma holders, and collateral-free loans of up to ₹20 lakhs to support education ranging from the 12th grade through to the PhD level. Additionally, he announced a ‘Tamil Employment Credit System,’ promising a 2.5% rebate on SGST (State GST) and a 5% reduction in electricity tariffs for private companies that commit to providing employment to at least 75% local residents.
