Furthermore, to enhance the efficiency of the city’s water management system, a demand for ₹46 crore has been made to fund the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) Water Bulk Management Project. Anticipating future requirements, MLA Landge has also demanded that necessary budgetary provisions be made to reserve water from the Chasakman and Mulshi dams. Under the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, a request has been made for funds amounting to ₹200 crore for an Eco-Tourism Park at Dudulgaon—aimed at boosting tourism—as well as ₹100 crore for the establishment of an international-standard Safari Park and an international-standard Rose Garden. “Focus” on Environment and River Conservation
Under the Department of Environment, a comprehensive proposal totaling ₹1,898 crore has been submitted for sewage management and water recycling projects. This includes a request for ₹960 crore for the Indrayani River Improvement Project and ₹953 crore for the Pavana River Improvement Project. Additionally, a request has been made for ₹663 crore to fund the second phase of the Moshi Solid Waste Management Project, as well as a project for the treatment and recycling of industrial wastewater.
**Increase Grants for the ‘Yatrakar’ (Pilgrim Tax) at Shrikshetra Alandi**
Meanwhile, MLA Landge has also put forth various demands for the sustainable development of Shrikshetra Alandi—the sacred land associated with the revered Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj. Requests have been submitted for the sanctioning of funds amounting to ₹25–30 crore for a modern administrative building for the Alandi Municipal Council, approximately ₹350 crore for the city’s water purification and drainage projects, and another ₹350 crore for a new water supply scheme. Furthermore, a proposal has been put forward to allocate ₹6 crore to install water meters on all tap connections throughout the city, with the aim of improving water usage management. Furthermore, a request has been made to allocate funds amounting to ₹5 crore for a CCTV project aimed at enhancing security within the pilgrimage site, and ₹10 crore for projects involving LED streetlights and underground electrical cabling. Additionally, MLA Mahesh Landge has urged the State Government to alleviate the financial strain on the Alandi Municipal Council by increasing the subsidy granted through the pilgrimage tax.
“Given the rapid expansion of Pimpri-Chinchwad city and the growing religious significance of the holy site of Alandi, it is absolutely essential to strengthen water supply, environmental protection, tourism, and infrastructure. With the future needs of both the city and the pilgrimage site in mind, I have presented all these projects to the government and am consistently following up during the Budget Session to ensure the approval of the necessary funds. I am confident that these development works will certainly gain momentum through the support of the State Government.”
