Contaminated Water Supply in Moshi Area Puts Citizens’ Health at Risk
Federation Warns of Intense Agitation if Issue Is Not Resolved Within Four Days

Pimpri-Chinchwad:
For the past fifteen days, residents of the Moshi Pradhikaran area under the jurisdiction of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation have been receiving highly contaminated water supply, putting public health at serious risk. A grave situation has emerged as the water supplied by the municipal corporation to areas including Sectors 4 to 13 of Pradhikaran, Shivajiwadi Moshi, and Borhadewadi has a strong foul smell and a yellowish colour.
Due to this contaminated water supply, children, senior citizens, women, and other residents are facing various health-related issues. As this matter is directly connected to citizens’ health, immediate intervention by the administration is urgently required.
In this regard, Chikhali–Pimpri Chinchwad Housing Society Federation President Sanjivan Sangale has submitted a written representation to Municipal Commissioner Hon. Mr. Shravan Hardikar, demanding that the supply of clean and safe drinking water be started immediately. It has also been demanded that until regular and purified water supply is restored, water should be supplied through tankers.
The federation has alleged that despite repeatedly contacting officials from the water supply department, no concrete improvement has been seen. A warning has been issued that if the water supply is not properly restored within the next four to five days, a large-scale agitation will be launched by the federation. During the agitation, strong public anger has been expressed, stating that the same contaminated water will be made to be consumed by municipal officials at the protest site.
Information regarding this issue has also been given to MLA Mahesh Landge and senior officials of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s water supply department. Citizens are expressing strong expectations for immediate action from the administration.
“For the past fifteen days, contaminated water is being supplied in Pradhikaran Sectors 4 to 13, as well as in Shivajiwadi Moshi and Borhadewadi areas. Despite repeatedly contacting officials regarding this issue, no difference has been seen. If the water supply is not purified and regularised within the next four to five days, an agitation will be carried out through the federation, and the same water will be made to be consumed by municipal officials by visiting the site.”
