Maharashtra Girl Triumphs at NCC National Rally: Tanu Bhan Crowned ‘Best Cadet’
Tanu Bhan from Pimple Saudagar Honored with Gold Medal by PM Narendra Modi for Outstanding Leadership and Discipline

Pimpri-Chinchwad | Maharashtra’s pride, Tanu Bhan, a Junior Under Officer from Pimple Saudagar, made history at the National NCC Rally held at Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi, following the Republic Day Parade. Competing in the Army Wing (Senior Wing), she earned the prestigious ‘Best Cadet’ title, bringing national recognition to her state and city.
In a grand ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented Tanu with a gold medal and a ceremonial baton, acknowledging her excellence in discipline, leadership, physical fitness, confidence, and patriotic service.
Tanu’s achievement has not only elevated her local community but also enhanced the prestige of Pimpri-Chinchwad and Maharashtra at the national level. In recognition of her success, Shatrughna (Bapu) Kate, BJP City President and Corporator, personally met Tanu and her family to congratulate her and extend best wishes for her future endeavors.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kate said, “Tanu Bhan has demonstrated that girls from Maharashtra—and indeed across India—can achieve the highest standards through discipline, hard work, and patriotism. Her accomplishment serves as an inspiring example of women’s potential in nation-building. She has become a role model for thousands of young girls aspiring to excel in service to the nation.”
The event was also attended by Vinod Patil, Tanu’s family members, and other dignitaries.“Tanu Bhan’s achievement underscores the importance of supporting talented girls. Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and local organizations are committed to providing educational, sports, and national service opportunities to empower more young girls to participate actively in nation-building.
