“We’re Humans, Not Robots”: Haris Rauf Gets Emotional After Sri Lanka Win, Hits Back at Critics
After being trolled for poor performances — especially against India — Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf opens up about the pressure and calls for empathy from fans.

Rawalpindi:
Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has finally spoken his heart out after facing months of criticism for his performances — particularly against India, where he often became a target of harsh online trolling.
Following Pakistan’s thrilling six-run win over Sri Lanka in the first ODI, Rauf became emotional while addressing the media, saying,
“There are no excuses for us. But people must understand that we are human, not robots. We can have bad days. Even with the best preparation, things can go wrong. It doesn’t mean the end of the world. We keep working to improve our skills and bounce back.”
Rauf, who was one of the most expensive bowlers in the Asia Cup, conceding 50 runs in just 3.4 overs against India, faced immense backlash for his poor form. His aggressive on-field behavior also led to a two-match suspension during the tournament.
However, against Sri Lanka, Rauf silenced his critics by delivering a match-winning spell of 4/61, dismissing key top-order batsmen like Pathum Nissanka and Kamil Mishara.
Speaking further, he said:
“Criticism hurts. You may play ten good matches, but people remember only the one bad game. Fans should never doubt our commitment — we always give our best for the country.”
With this win, Pakistan took a 1–0 lead in the three-match ODI series. Rauf’s performance reminded fans of his potential when backed with confidence and consistency.
