Over 1.71 Million Voters to Exercise Their Democratic Right Today in Pimpri-Chinchwad

Administration Fully Prepared; Fate of Candidates from 128 Wards to Be Decided Through Ballot

A total of 17,13,891 voters will exercise their constitutional right to vote in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) elections today. The civic administration has made comprehensive arrangements to ensure that the polling process is conducted in a fear-free, transparent, and smooth manner, said Municipal Commissioner and Election Officer Shravan Hardikar.

Appealing to citizens, Hardikar urged voters to participate enthusiastically in the democratic process and motivate other eligible voters to cast their votes responsibly.


Voter Demographics and Polling Arrangements

Out of the total 17.13 lakh voters, the electorate includes:

  • 9,05,728 male voters

  • 8,07,966 female voters

  • 197 voters from other categories

The final ward-wise voter list was published on 15 December 2025.

  • Ward No. 16 has the highest number of voters (75,105)

  • Ward No. 23 has the lowest number of voters (33,033)

For voter convenience, a total of 2,067 polling stations have been set up across the municipal area.


Temporary Polling Booths Set Up

To manage voter turnout effectively, 322 temporary polling stations have been established under various Election Officer offices:

  • Office No. 1: 52

  • Office No. 2: 54

  • Office No. 3: 3

  • Office No. 4: 108 (highest)

  • Office No. 5: 27

  • Office No. 6: 22

  • Office No. 7: 23

  • Office No. 8: 33


Mobile Phones Prohibited Inside Polling Booths

Voter slips have been distributed door-to-door by Booth Level Officers to help voters locate their polling stations and verify voter details. Voters have also been informed that mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside polling booths.

Volunteers have been deployed at all polling stations to assist voters. Arrangements have been made outside polling booths for the safekeeping of mobile phones, with the help of Anganwadi workers and Mahila volunteers.


Vote Counting on January 16

Vote counting will take place on Friday, January 16, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m. at designated counting centers.

  • Separate tables have been arranged for EVM rounds

  • A separate setup has been made for postal ballot counting

  • Results will be declared round-wise

  • Dedicated Media Cells will operate at all Election Officer offices


Commissioner Reviews Poll Material Distribution

Municipal Commissioner and Election Officer Shravan Hardikar personally inspected polling material distribution centers across all eight Election Officer offices. He reviewed the distribution process to ensure that materials were dispatched on time, systematically, and without disruption.

Senior officials including Sub-Divisional Officers, Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Election Officers, and department heads were present during the inspection.
