Clashes Erupt Again at JNU; Several Students Injured in Late-Night Violence
Left Student Groups and ABVP Trade Allegations After Stone-Pelting Incident on Campus

JUN: Fresh violence broke out at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi, where clashes erupted between left-leaning student organisations and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) late at night. Several students were reportedly injured in incidents of stone-pelting during the confrontation.
The All India Students Association (AISA) described the episode as a major attack on the student movement. The organisation alleged that ABVP members hurled stones at the JNUSU camp and attacked unarmed students.
On the other hand, ABVP termed the incident a “night of terror” and claimed that 300 to 400 masked individuals were involved in violent activities inside the campus.
The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) had called for a march from Sabarmati Dhaba to the East Gate on Sunday night, demanding the resignation of Vice-Chancellor Shantishree Dhulipudi Pandit along with other issues. Tensions escalated when members of rival groups came face-to-face during the protest.
Left-affiliated organisations accused the university administration of supporting ABVP, while ABVP rejected the allegations and countered that left groups had instigated the violence.
Following the incident, a tense calm prevails on the campus, and authorities are working to bring the situation under control.
