Youth Participation Essential for a Developed India: Dr. Girish Desai

77th Republic Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Pimpri Chinchwad University, Vadgaon Maval

Pimpri-Chinchwad | Pimpri-Chinchwad Education Trust’s (PCET) Pimpri Chinchwad University (PCU), located at Sate, Vadgaon Maval, celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The national flag was hoisted by Dr. Girish Desai, Executive Director of PCET, on this occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Girish Desai emphasized that active participation of today’s youth is essential to achieve the vision of a “Developed India.” He urged students to continuously strive for excellence, integrity, leadership and innovation. Sharing his experience of participating in the World Economic Forum at Davos, Dr. Desai said that global investors have expressed strong confidence in India, especially in Maharashtra’s world-class infrastructure facilities. He added that several memorandums of understanding signed at the forum will bring large-scale international investments to Maharashtra, leading to significant employment generation in the near future.

Dr. Desai further stated that PCET is committed to nurturing skilled, capable and leadership-oriented human resources to take advantage of these opportunities. He advised students to keep learning continuously, adapt to emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, and develop globally competitive skills to succeed in the modern world.

On this occasion, PCU Chancellor Harshvardhan Patil, PCET President Dnyaneshwar Landge, Vice President Padmatai Bhosale, Treasurer Shantaram Garade, Secretary Vitthal Kalbhor, Management Representatives Ajinkya Kalbhor and Narendra Landge, along with Vice-Chancellor Dr. Santosh Sonawane, extended Republic Day greetings.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Santosh Sonawane highlighted the importance of the Indian Constitution, stating that it upholds the core values of democracy, equality and justice. He appealed to everyone to follow constitutional values through responsible behaviour and ethical conduct in daily life.

The programme also featured patriotic songs by students Chaitanya and Vaishnavi, a tribute to martyrs by Prof. Isha Rakhi, a speech on constitutional values by student Nayka Tiwari, and a thought-provoking drama presented by Prashna Bhere and team. Faculty members, staff and a large number of students were present for the celebration.
