‘Shree Ganesha’ of IIM Establishment in Pimpri-Chinchwad
State Revenue Minister Bawankule gives green signal for land availability; BJP MLA Mahesh Landge’s persistent follow-up succeeds

Pimpri-Chinchwad | Known as an industrial city, workers’ city, IT hub, and auto hub, Pimpri-Chinchwad is now set to welcome a branch of the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM-Nagpur). While the entire city is celebrating the arrival of Lord Ganesha, the foundation for starting such a reputed institution like IIM has also been laid in the city.
State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has given the green signal to this project, and the process to make 70 acres of land available has begun. This “dream project” of BJP MLA Mahesh Landge has now come into view.
The branch of IIM will be set up on government grazing land at Gat No. 325 in Moshi area of the city. This will add further glory to Pimpri-Chinchwad and give new momentum to industrial development. Earlier, MLA Landge had taken the initiative to start a branch of the Government Engineering College and succeeded. Now the dream of starting a branch of IIM-Nagpur is becoming a reality.
Once the IIM branch is established in the industrial city, new opportunities for employment, research, and entrepreneurship will be created. Students from all over the country will come to Pimpri-Chinchwad, direct contact with the industrial sector will be established, and the educational strength of the city will be further strengthened, expressed MLA Landge.
“Pimpri-Chinchwad is an industrial city where citizens from all corners of the country reside. Considering Mumbai-Pune connectivity, industrial development, and the educational environment, establishing an institution like IIM is a matter of pride for the city. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had held a meeting. Now the Revenue Minister has approved the land. IIM Director Dr. Bhimaraya Metri has taken the initiative. Now the work of IIM will gain momentum.”
