Storm Alert in Maharashtra: ‘Yellow Alert’ Issued for Multiple Districts Amid Unstable Weather

Mumbai | Maharashtra is currently witnessing unstable weather conditions, with several regions experiencing rainfall accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the impact of this stormy pattern will persist across the state for the next two to three days. A ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued for multiple districts, warning residents of potentially disruptive weather conditions.
According to the IMD, thunderstorms with lightning and wind speeds ranging between 30 to 40 km/h are likely in several parts of the state. Isolated areas may also experience hailstorms along with light to moderate rainfall. The prevailing weather disturbance is attributed to the influence of a western disturbance, combined with moisture-laden winds originating from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, creating conducive conditions for rainfall.

Heatwave Conditions Persist in Parts of Vidarbha

El Niño Concerns Raise Rainfall Uncertainty
Meteorological projections indicate the possible development of El Niño conditions over the Pacific Ocean this year. This phenomenon often leads to below-average rainfall across India, raising concerns about the upcoming monsoon season. The ongoing weather instability is already affecting daily life and agricultural planning, with farmers particularly worried about climatic unpredictability in the coming months.
