Seizure Action Inevitable Against Defaulters Above ₹5 Lakhs..!

Pimpri chinchwad | The Tax Assessment and Tax Collection Department of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has undertaken a seizure campaign to recover property tax arrears from defaulters. Recently, Additional Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Pradeep Jambhale Patil, and Assistant Commissioner of the Tax Collection Department, Avinash Shinde, organized a review meeting on property tax assessment and recovery on 18th August 2025.
In this meeting, the Additional Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner instructed that in the first phase, a seizure campaign would be implemented against defaulters with arrears above ₹5 lakhs. Assistant Commissioner Avinash Shinde informed that the seizure drive will be carried out from 20th August to 20th September 2025.
A total of 699 defaulters with arrears above ₹5 lakhs have been identified in the city. The total arrears owed by them amount to ₹96 crores. To recover these dues, special teams have been formed office-wise, and if some defaulters still fail to pay despite repeated notices, direct property seizure action will be executed. Assistant Commissioner Avinash Shinde will also review the seizure action every two days.

No leniency will be shown towards property tax defaulters above ₹5 lakhs, and direct seizure action will be taken. Despite repeated notices, as taxes were not paid, the Corporation was left with no option but to take this decision. Departmental offices will start strict action from tomorrow, hence citizens are urged to clear dues on time and avoid harsh measures.
