PM Begins Three-Nation Visit Focused on Indo-Pacific Vision
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a significant three-nation visit to Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand, describing the tour as an important step towards strengthening India’s Indo-Pacific vision and expanding strategic partnerships in the region.
Ahead of his departure, the Prime Minister said the visit would reinforce India’s commitment to the Indo-Pacific and provide fresh momentum to the country’s “Act East” policy. He noted that the engagements would focus on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, maritime security, connectivity, clean energy, technology and people-to-people exchanges.
The three-nation tour is expected to include high-level bilateral meetings with the leaders of Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. Discussions will centre on deepening economic ties, regional security, defence cooperation and collaboration in emerging sectors.
The visit is also aimed at strengthening India’s diplomatic engagement with key partners in the Indo-Pacific, a region that has gained increasing strategic importance in recent years. Officials believe the tour will further consolidate India’s role as a reliable partner in promoting a free, open, inclusive and rules-based Indo-Pacific.
Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence that the visit would elevate bilateral relations with the three countries and contribute to regional peace, stability and sustainable development.
The tour is being viewed as a key diplomatic initiative that underscores India’s growing focus on the Indo-Pacific and its commitment to expanding cooperation with like-minded nations under the Act East policy.
