Samruddhi Highway Tragedy: Two Myanmar Tourists Killed in Fatal Midnight Accident in Washim District

A tragic accident on the Samruddhi Mahamarg (Nagpur-Mumbai Expressway) claimed the lives of two tourists from Myanmar in the early hours of Friday. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. between Dabha and Jaulka, near location 232.300 on the expressway.

The deceased have been identified as Min Aung (33) and Min Chit Aung (13), both citizens of Myanmar. The accident involved a Toyota Innova (MH01BB1215) carrying seven passengers who were reportedly traveling from Mumbai to Jagannath Puri for pilgrimage.

According to police reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash violently into the central road divider. The impact was so severe that the front portion of the car was completely smashed.

Upon receiving information, Jaulka Police rushed to the spot and initiated rescue operations. The injured were immediately taken to Washim District General Hospital for treatment. One passenger is said to be in critical condition, while four others suffered minor injuries.

Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
