Maharashtra:
is bracing for weather disturbances as a cyclone formed near the Sri Lankan coast and adjoining Bay of Bengal moves towards India. The system has triggered sudden temperature fluctuations across many parts of the state over the last few days—cloudy skies, unexpected humidity, afternoon heat and cool winds after sunset have already begun affecting public health.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the cyclone is expected to move closer to the Indian landmass within the next 24 to 48 hours, potentially influencing weather conditions across Maharashtra.

In Mumbai, early mornings will remain slightly cool, but heat is expected to intensify as the day progresses. Minimum temperatures are likely to stay around 22–23°C, while maximum temperatures may touch 32–34°C. Despite late-night coolness, the lack of moisture in the air will reduce the feeling of winter chill.

Navi Mumbai and Thane are expected to experience similar weather patterns.

While rainfall warnings have been issued for some regions in the country due to cyclone activity, certain parts of Maharashtra—especially Parbhani—have already started experiencing cold winds. IMD forecasts mild winter conditions to continue in some districts till December 2–3.

On 28 November 2025, Bhandara recorded one of the lowest temperatures in the state at 10°C. Cloudy skies are expected in a few regions, and isolated light showers may occur in parts of Vidarbha.
