Prashant Shitole Appointed BJP Group Leader in Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation
State President Ravindra Chavan Approves Group Registration

Pimpri-Chinchwad | In the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation General Elections 2026, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a total of 84 corporators. A meeting of all these corporators was held on January 30, 2026. In this meeting, as per the list attached, the corporators unanimously approved the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party group and passed a resolution accordingly. An official letter regarding the same has been submitted to the Municipal Corporation administration, informed BJP City President Shatrughan Kate.
The meeting was attended by MLA Mahesh Landge, MLA Shankar Jagtap, Member of Legislative Council Amit Gorkhe, MLA Uma Khapre, along with senior office bearers of the party executive committee.
During the meeting, a resolution was unanimously passed to officially constitute the group under the name “Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Bharatiya Janata Party Group.” Additionally, corporator Prashant Krishnarao Shitole, elected from Ward No. 32-D, was unanimously elected as the BJP Group Leader.
It was also decided to register the said group with the Divisional Commissioner, Pune, and the Commissioner, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. Accordingly, BJP State President Ravindra Chavan has granted official party approval for the registration of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Bharatiya Janata Party Group, comprising 84 corporators.
BJP City President Shatrughan Kate congratulated the newly elected Group Leader Prashant Shitole and extended his best wishes for his future responsibilities.
