Nagpur:
Highway routes passing through Nagpur remain blocked for the second consecutive day (Oct 29) as PRAHAR Party chief Bachchu Kadu continues his agitation demanding farm loan waiver and financial support for the differently-abled.

The protesters have issued an ultimatum to the Maharashtra government till 12 noon today. Thousands of vehicles are stranded on major routes, causing heavy disruption for commuters, students, and transporters.

Kadu accused the government of ignoring farmers’ issues, saying, “The same government that reacts swiftly to other social issues refuses to take notice of farmers’ pain.” He also warned that if their demands remain unmet, they will intensify the agitation by launching a ‘Rail Roko’ and may even block access to Nagpur Airport.

The protest began on Tuesday (Oct 28) when activists surprised the police by launching an unannounced ‘chakka jam’ (road blockade) near Gavsi Manapur area on Wardha Road. In cities like Wardha, Chandrapur, Amravati, Hyderabad, and Jabalpur, long queues of vehicles have piled up, forcing some educational institutions to declare a holiday.

The movement focuses on key demands including complete farm loan waiver and ₹6,000 monthly aid for differently-abled citizens. With tensions escalating, authorities have strengthened security across the region.
