There are strong rumors that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis may show the door to some controversial ministers in the state. The Thackeray faction has even reported that 8 ministers will be sacked. This has sparked strong indications of a major reshuffle in the state government. Fadnavis’s visit to Delhi has only fueled these discussions further. With former state minister and senior BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar giving an update, the debate over whether a reshuffle is imminent has intensified.

When asked about the reshuffle, Sudhir Mungantiwar clearly stated that no such reshuffle is happening. “No such discussion has taken place in the core group. Cabinet decisions are not taken at the state level, they are taken at the central level. If any such changes are to happen, we are informed in due time. But personally, I don’t think any such change is happening right now,” said Sudhir Mungantiwar.

Will the Assembly Speaker be Replaced?

There is also intense speculation about a change in the post of Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. When Mungantiwar was asked about this, he responded cautiously. “I don’t have any information right now regarding the Speaker’s post. But again, personally, I don’t think such a reshuffle will happen. Elections to municipal corporations, municipal councils, and district councils are upcoming. Hence, I don’t think any leader from those districts will be destabilized from their ministerial positions,” said Mungantiwar.

“Then It Will Be a Matter of Joy”

Meanwhile, Speaker Rahul Narwekar also reacted to the reshuffle speculation. “Whether the Speaker should be changed or not is up to the party. Whatever the party desires will be my desire. The Speaker’s post is higher than a ministerial post. If the post is taken away, how will I feel happy? But if, with your blessings, I am entrusted with a new responsibility, then I’ll certainly be happy,” said Rahul Narwekar.

“Then I Will Take Responsibility”

He further added, “Whatever responsibility my party gives me, I’m ready to accept it. Also, the government will certainly take decisions that are in the public interest.”
