D Y Patil International University Inaugurates Tech Mahindra Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security

D Y Patil International University (DYPIU), Akurdi, marked a significant milestone in industry–academia collaboration with the grand inauguration of the “Tech Mahindra – Centre of Excellence: Cyber Security” at the university campus. The initiative aims to empower students with cutting-edge knowledge, practical exposure, and future-ready skills in the rapidly evolving domain of cybersecurity and emerging technologies.
The event witnessed the esteemed presence of senior officials from Tech Mahindra, including Mr. Peeyush Marwaha, Vice President & Group Delivery Head, along with Ms. Jasneet Kaur Khanna, Group Manager – People Supply Chain, Ms. Natasha Verma, Senior Cybersecurity Professional, and Ms. Meghana Aashish Jagtap, Global Process Office Operations Lead.

The ceremony commenced with the arrival and felicitation of the distinguished guests at the university board room by the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Manish Bhalla, followed by an interaction with university management officials. The dignitaries then inaugurated the newly established Cyber Security Laboratory, symbolizing the beginning of a transformative partnership focused on innovation, skill enhancement, and experiential learning.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Arun Sacher, Associate Dean – Placement & Corporate Relations, emphasized the importance of industry-oriented learning and highlighted how the Centre of Excellence would bridge the gap between academic knowledge and corporate expectations.
Honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. Manish Bhalla expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration and stated that such initiatives will significantly strengthen students’ employability, technical capabilities, and industry readiness in the fields of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

A key highlight of the event was the inspiring interaction session conducted by Mr. Peeyush Marwaha with the students of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. Motivating students to prepare for the future technological landscape, he encouraged them to “have confidence in themselves and embrace Artificial Intelligence.” He emphasized the three foundational pillars of cybersecurity — Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability — and urged students to deeply understand their importance in the digital world.

Mr. Marwaha further advised students to focus on emerging domains such as Agentic AI and Generative AI, stressing that continuous learning is the key to success in the technology sector. He highlighted the importance of maintaining an “appetite to learn,” remaining open to new technologies, pursuing professional certifications, and developing strong communication skills with clarity in speech.

The event also provided students with valuable industry insights from experienced professionals across cybersecurity operations, HR transformation, talent management, and global process governance. The interaction created a highly motivating environment for aspiring engineers and technology enthusiasts.
The program concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Jasmita Kaur, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, university leadership, faculty members, and students for making the event a grand success. The ceremony ended with a group photograph and networking lunch, celebrating the beginning of a promising collaboration between Tech Mahindra and DYPIU.

The newly inaugurated Tech Mahindra – Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security is expected to serve as a dynamic platform for advanced learning, research, innovation, and industry engagement, enabling students to become future-ready professionals in the digital era.
