No Injustice Will Be Done to Anyone in Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Development Plan: Minister of State Madhuri Misal

Mumbai | The process regarding the Development Plan (DP) of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation is currently at the stage of objections and suggestions. Care will be taken to ensure that no injustice is done to anyone in this development plan, stated Minister of State Madhuri Misal in the Legislative Council.
Minister of State Madhuri Misal was speaking while responding to a calling attention motion raised by Legislative Council member Amit Gorkhe regarding the development plan of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. Members Satej Patil, Shrikant Bharatiya, Sachin Ahire, Smt. Uma Khapre, Shashikant Shinde, and Satyajit Mohite Patil also participated in the discussion.
Minister Misal stated that if necessary, the government can make changes in the final stage or even cancel the development plan. While preparing the development plan, factors such as population, area, and usage density are surveyed, and accordingly, the draft plan is prepared. Around 30,000 objections and suggestions have been received on the DP, and the Town Planning Department is conducting detailed hearings on all of them. After the hearings, necessary amendments will be suggested, and the final plan will be prepared. If it becomes clear from the citizens’ or public representatives’ suggestions that the plan is unjust to anyone or contains flaws, the government also has the authority to cancel the plan, Minister Misal added.
Stating that no city can have proper planning and development unless its development plan is approved, Minister Misal emphasized that approving this plan is an important process. However, it is the government’s responsibility to ensure that the plan is created in a proper and just manner through public participation before its approval. The development plan, which is crucial for the future development of Pimpri-Chinchwad city, is currently at a decisive stage. Citizens, institutions, and public representatives have the opportunity to submit their views until July 14. Minister Misal made it clear that public participation is important to ensure that the plan is just and inclusive.
