New Delhi: Rising cricket sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who grabbed headlines with his fearless batting performances in IPL 2026, has now found himself at the center of a major social media controversy. A viral video allegedly showing the youngster behaving arrogantly towards renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle triggered widespread criticism online. However, the truth behind the clip has exposed a dangerous trend of AI-generated misinformation.
The viral video, which circulated extensively across social media platforms, appeared to show Vaibhav Suryavanshi responding rudely to questions from Harsha Bhogle. The clip quickly attracted attention, with many users accusing the young cricketer of being disrespectful and overconfident.
However, it was later revealed that the video had been manipulated using artificial intelligence and dubbed audio. The conversation featured in the viral clip never actually took place, and the original interview contained none of the controversial remarks attributed to Suryavanshi.
Reacting strongly to the incident, Harsha Bhogle took to Instagram and publicly condemned the fabricated content. He clarified that the video was entirely fake and accused those responsible of deliberately attempting to damage the reputation of a young athlete.

In his statement, Bhogle wrote, “A fake dubbed video of Vaibhav Suryavanshi and me is doing the rounds on social media. It attempts to portray Vaibhav as rude and arrogant. No such question was asked and no such answer was given.”
Expressing disappointment over the incident, he further stated, “This is an extremely unfortunate and malicious act. Creating misleading content, especially involving a young boy, is wrong. In all my interactions with Vaibhav, he has always been polite and respectful.”
Bhogle has also tagged the BCCI and Rajasthan Royals, urging authorities to take strict action against those responsible for creating and spreading the manipulated content.
The original footage was reportedly taken from the BCCI Naman Awards 2026, where Bhogle interacted with Suryavanshi during an on-stage interview. The edited version was later altered with fabricated audio and circulated online, misleading thousands of viewers.
During the actual interview, Suryavanshi had confidently spoken about his team’s ambitions, saying, “This year our goal is to win the trophy for the team. Our preparations are going well, and all the players are confident. We hope the trophy will come to our team this season.”
The incident has once again highlighted the growing threat posed by AI-generated videos and fake audio content. Experts warn that such manipulated material can severely damage reputations, spread misinformation, and create unnecessary public outrage.
While Harsha Bhogle’s clarification has exposed the truth behind the viral clip, the controversy serves as a stark reminder that not everything seen on social media should be accepted at face value. The episode has also raised concerns about the emotional and psychological impact that fabricated online attacks can have on young athletes and public figures.
