MoU Signed Between PCU and UGC-HRDC
Pimpri-Chinchwad | With a strong vision, clear goals, and swift, effective implementation, Pimpri Chinchwad University (PCU) is progressing rapidly. The MoU between PCU and UGC will certainly boost faculty development and multidisciplinary education, expressed Dr. Rajesh Kumar Dubey, Director of UGC-HRDC. He further praised that while it took other universities nearly twenty years to reach a certain development milestone, PCU achieved it in just two years.
On Monday (4th), a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Pimpri Chinchwad University (PCU) and the UGC Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC). The MoU was signed by Dr. Girish Desai, Executive Director of PCET, and Prof. Dr. Rajesh Kumar Dubey, Director, UGC-HRDC. This agreement will promote academic excellence, accelerate faculty development, and facilitate multidisciplinary academic collaboration, ensuring students receive high-quality education in line with the new National Education Policy (NEP).
Present on the occasion were PCU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Govind Kulkarni, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Sudip Thepade, and others.
Dr. Dubey stated that today’s teachers are not just educators but nation builders and problem-solving researchers. They must possess a broad vision and the ability to offer quality education that addresses local challenges. They should also understand and work towards the joint degree and dual degree programs under NEP. This MoU between PCU and UGC has been formed keeping these goals in mind.
Now, national-level faculty development programs sponsored by UGC-HRDC will be organized at PCU. Through these initiatives, faculty members from various disciplines will come together for dialogue, collaboration, and discussions on modern teaching methodologies. There will be reflection on interdisciplinary studies and new perspectives in training, said Dr. Dubey.
Dr. Girish Desai stated that educational quality, inclusivity, and collaboration are core values of PCET and PCU. This MoU is an important step forward and will enable more effective implementation of the National Education Policy.
PCU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Govind Kulkarni said that the university’s policy already includes objectives highlighted in the NEP, such as innovation, student entrepreneurship, and national initiatives like Developed India and Make in India.
PCU Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Sudip Thepade shared insights on PCU’s future plans, research projects, and academic innovations.
With the guidance of PCU Chancellor and PCET Trustee Harshavardhan Patil, PCET President Dnyaneshwar Landge, Vice President Padmatai Bhosale, Secretary Vitthal Kalbhor, Treasurer Shantaram Garade, industrialist Narendra Landge, Ajinkya Kalbhor, and Executive Director Dr. Girish Desai, PCU is moving forward towards quality and holistic development.
