Ajit Pawar, who passed away in a tragic plane crash on January 28, left behind a deep void in Maharashtra’s political landscape. On what would have been his birthday, emotions ran high among his supporters and family members.
Sharing a series of personal photographs with her late husband, Sunetra Pawar reflected on the years when the family celebrated his birthday with happiness, warmth and togetherness. She admitted that accepting the day as a Jayanti instead of a birthday remains one of the most painful realities of her life.
“For so many years, I celebrated your birthday with joy, enthusiasm and pride. Today, accepting the same day as your birth anniversary breaks my heart from within. Even today, my mind refuses to accept this painful truth, Dada,” she wrote.
Describing Ajit Pawar as her greatest strength, Sunetra Pawar said he stood by her through every phase of life, offering unwavering support, confidence and encouragement during difficult times.

“You were my strongest pillar at every turn of life. Your reassuring presence, your comforting hand on my back and your constant support have suddenly disappeared. It is still impossible to believe that everything has changed overnight,” she said.
She added that she never imagined fate would take away the strongest support of her life so suddenly, leaving an irreplaceable void.
Concluding her emotional message, Sunetra Pawar said that although Ajit Pawar is no longer physically present, his values, discipline, public service and unconditional love will continue to guide her forever.
“As I remember you today, my heart aches and my tears refuse to stop. Though you are no longer physically with me, your thoughts, memories, dedication to public service, discipline and love will live in every breath I take. My heartfelt tribute to my life partner and your sacred memories,” she wrote.
