The initiative is being implemented under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme of the Swarnalata Motherson Charitable Trust in collaboration with the Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA). It aims to encourage scientific segregation and on-site processing of wet waste while promoting environmentally responsible practices among residential communities.

Under the programme, selected housing societies within the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limits will receive up to six Aerobin composters free of cost. In addition, participating societies will benefit from complimentary awareness sessions, training programmes, and technical guidance for effective waste segregation and composting, all without any additional charges.
The initiative seeks to reduce the burden on landfill sites, support government-led green initiatives, lower waste management costs, and help create cleaner, healthier and more sustainable residential communities.
Speaking about the initiative, Sachin Londhe, President of PPCCHSF, said: “Effective waste management begins at the source. Through the ‘SORT Phase 04’ initiative, we aim to empower housing societies to manage wet waste scientifically within their own premises. This CSR partnership is not just about providing composters; it is about creating awareness, encouraging community participation, and building a sustainable future. Every housing society that adopts this initiative takes a meaningful step towards a cleaner, greener and environmentally responsible Pimpri-Chinchwad.”
PPCCHSF has appealed to eligible housing societies within the PCMC limits to take advantage of the initiative and actively participate in building a cleaner and greener urban ecosystem. For further information, interested societies may contact the Federation through its official helpline.
