Robot Revolution:
While several countries race to launch advanced humanoid robots, a Chinese startup has surprised the global tech market with a revolutionary, budget-friendly robot.
Noetics Robotics has introduced a human-like robot named ‘Bumi’, priced nearly the same as a premium smartphone—specifically an iPhone.

Only 9,998 Yuan (~₹1 Lakh): Technology at an Unbelievable Price

Most humanoid robots from major companies cost 30 to 100 times more, but Noetics Robotics has broken that barrier by pricing Bumi at just 9,998 yuan (approx. ₹1,00,000). The announcement has created shockwaves across the tech industry.

100 Robots Sold Within the First Hour

Noetics Robotics has shown that robots are not just for the rich or for big factories. After receiving $41 million in funding, the company opened sales — and within the first hour, over 100 units of Bumi were sold.

Bumi stands 94 cm tall and is primarily designed to be a child-friendly companion, helping kids learn through interaction.

How Did They Make It So Affordable? The Three Secrets

Founder Jiang Zeyuan revealed how they significantly reduced costs:

  1. Control boards and motor drivers are built in-house instead of outsourcing.

  2. Lightweight composite materials were used to reduce weight to just 12 kg, allowing the use of smaller motors and batteries.

  3. Almost 100% of components are made in China, cutting transportation and logistics costs drastically.

This combination allowed Noetics to bring a high-tech robot into an affordable price bracket.

What Can Bumi Do?

Bumi is designed for education and entertainment.
Its small size allows it to fit easily into homes, schools, and classrooms.
The robot is built as an open platform, meaning developers can add new features, apps, or educational modules.

The company says Bumi is not just a gadget — it’s a testbed for creativity, enabling users to experiment with robotics and AI.

Will Every Home Have a Robot Soon?

Noetics Robotics aims to manufacture 1,000 robots per month by the end of 2025.
The startup currently operates plants in Beijing and Changzhou, with a third facility planned.

If production goals are met, affordable humanoid robots could become a common sight in everyday households.
