Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday announced a major update regarding the relief package for farmers affected by heavy rainfall and floods across the state.

Speaking to the media after the Cabinet meeting, Fadnavis stated that the government has conducted a detailed review of the ongoing compensation distribution process. He confirmed that an additional ₹11,000 crore has now been approved and will be released within the next 15 days.

Over the past few months, several parts of Maharashtra have witnessed excessive rainfall and severe flooding, leading to widespread crop destruction and heavy losses for farmers. In response, the state government had earlier announced financial assistance packages to support the affected farmers.

“Farmers will not be left alone in this crisis. The government is committed to ensuring that every eligible farmer receives financial help at the earliest,” Fadnavis said, emphasizing the administration’s focus on speedy compensation and transparent distribution.

The Deputy CM also mentioned that district officials have been directed to ensure on-ground verification and prompt disbursement of funds to genuine beneficiaries.
