August 28 Release Date Changed

Eetha’s release date had been a topic of discussion for the past few days. The film was initially scheduled to arrive in theatres on August 28, but reports suggested that the makers were considering a change in the release schedule.

The makers have now officially locked December 4, 2026, as the new theatrical release date. Along with announcing the date, the team has also given audiences a glimpse of what to expect from the much-awaited project.

Shraddha Kapoor to Play Vithabai Narayangaonkar

Eetha is based on the life of Vithabai Narayangaonkar, one of the most respected names in Maharashtra’s folk art tradition. Known for her contribution to Tamasha and Lavani, Vithabai began her journey in extremely challenging circumstances before establishing a distinct identity in Maharashtra’s folk theatre.

Shraddha Kapoor will portray Vithabai Narayangaonkar on screen. The role is considered a significant one in Shraddha’s career, as it takes her into a completely different acting space.

The actress, who has previously entertained audiences through Maddock Films’ horror-comedy projects, will be seen in a much more intense and performance-driven avatar in Eetha.

Randeep Hooda and Zeeshan Ayyub in Key Roles

Alongside Shraddha Kapoor, Randeep Hooda and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub will also play important roles in the film.

The music for Eetha has been composed by the popular musical duo Ajay-Atul, adding further anticipation among Marathi and Hindi cinema audiences.

Eetha also marks the first collaboration between Shraddha Kapoor and director Laxman Utekar. The director-producer duo of Laxman Utekar and Dinesh Vijan has previously delivered successful films including Luka Chuppi, Mimi, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and Chhaava.

With a powerful real-life story, an acclaimed director, a strong cast and music by Ajay-Atul, Eetha is now among the films to watch out for when it arrives in theatres on December 4, 2026.
