Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Achieves Record Slum Tax Collection in FY 2025-26

Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra: The Slum Redevelopment and Rehabilitation Department of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has set a historic milestone by collecting an unprecedented ₹1.10 crore in slum tax during the financial year 2025-26 (April 1, 2025, – March 31, 2026). This marks the highest slum tax collection in a single fiscal year over the past five years, highlighting the corporation’s strategic revenue collection initiatives.
Mayor Ravi Landge and Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the citizens who contributed promptly, acknowledging their role in supporting the city’s developmental projects.
Strategic Collection and Modern Technology Boost Efficiency
Under the guidance of Mayor Ravi Landge, Deputy Mayor Sharmila Baber, and Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi, with oversight from Additional Commissioner Trupti Sandbhor and Deputy Commissioner Anna Bodde, the Slum Redevelopment and Rehabilitation Department leveraged modern technology to facilitate smooth tax collection. Both online and offline payment options were offered, making it easier for citizens to fulfill their slum tax obligations.

To ensure convenience, the department kept offices open during weekends and public holidays, minimizing disruption for residents and encouraging timely payments.
Record Growth Compared to Past Years
Over the last five fiscal years, slum tax collections have grown steadily:
- FY 2021-22: ₹27.81 lakh
- FY 2022-23: ₹45.24 lakh
- FY 2023-24: ₹40.09 lakh
- FY 2024-25: ₹45.33 lakh
- FY 2025-26: ₹1.10 crore
Deputy Commissioner Anna Bodde confirmed that this year’s collection represents the highest ever slum tax revenue in the past five years.
Citizens’ Contribution and Future Plans
Mayor Ravi Landge emphasized, “The record slum tax collection is a result of strategic planning by PCMC and the positive response from citizens. Timely payments contribute significantly to the city’s growth and development.”
Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi added, “Through modern technology, convenient payment facilities, and focused collection campaigns, PCMC has achieved this milestone. Residents’ cooperation in paying slum taxes on time has played a crucial role. We will continue to enhance citizen-friendly services while boosting revenue in the future.”
