Israel launched a series of intense airstrikes on several oil storage depots in Iran on Saturday, escalating tensions in the region. Massive explosions were reported in the capital Tehran and the nearby city of Karaj, where large flames and thick black smoke were seen rising into the sky.

Videos circulating widely on social media showed dramatic scenes of blazing fires and heavy smoke emerging from the targeted locations. According to reports, the attacks were part of a series of strikes carried out over the past week by Israel and the United States against Iran’s energy infrastructure.

Several oil storage facilities in Tehran and the Alborz Province were reportedly targeted in the operation. One of the major strikes hit an oil depot in Karaj, located west of Tehran. Another attack targeted a key oil refinery complex in the Ray District near the Iranian capital.

Reports also indicated renewed strikes on the Shahran Oil Depot in northwest Tehran, which had previously been attacked in June. Following the latest strike, massive flames and thick plumes of smoke were seen rising over the area.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Oil Ministry said that firefighting teams and emergency workers are actively working to control the fires. Officials also stated that the attacks would not lead to fuel shortages or an energy crisis in the country.

According to reports by The Times of Israel, a source from Iran’s Oil Ministry confirmed that Israeli fighter jets targeted three depots in the western Tehran areas of Kuhak and Shahran, along with additional facilities in Karaj.

The Israel Defense Forces also acknowledged the strikes, stating that the targeted fuel storage and energy complexes were allegedly being used by Iranian armed forces, which prompted the military action.
