Pimpri-Chinchwad Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi Conducts Surprise Visit to YCM Hospital on Government Holiday

Pimpri: Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi, Commissioner of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, paid a surprise visit on a government holiday to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital (YCMH) and the municipal postgraduate institute, conducting a comprehensive inspection of various departments.
During the visit, he reviewed healthcare services, treatment systems, medical infrastructure, and citizen-centric service delivery. Dr. Suryawanshi inspected key departments including the ICU, NICU, Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, ENT, Dental, Ultrasonography (USG), X-Ray, Dialysis, Outpatient Department (OPD), Emergency Unit, and Heatstroke Ward. He gathered detailed information regarding patient load, treatment protocols, available equipment, and overall service management.
The Commissioner also interacted directly with patients and their relatives to understand their experiences and feedback regarding hospital services. Patients expressed satisfaction with the facilities and care being provided. Dr. Suryawanshi instructed officials to further enhance efficiency, responsiveness, and citizen-focused healthcare delivery.
During the visit, Dr. Abhaychandra Dadewar made a detailed presentation outlining various hospital departments, available facilities, medical services, manpower, and future plans.
Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital is a key public healthcare institution in the city, offering a range of services including a postgraduate medical institute, B.Sc. Nursing college, blood center, Masulkar Eye Hospital, and a dedicated ambulance unit. It plays a vital role in providing affordable and quality healthcare to citizens.
The Commissioner emphasized the need for coordinated efforts across all departments to ensure accessible and high-quality healthcare services, and urged continuous improvement in existing facilities.
Other officials present during the visit included Dr. Kishor Suryawanshi, Dr. Mohan Waghmare, Senior Sister Shabnam Sayyed, along with hospital staff.
“Today, I personally reviewed the healthcare facilities available at YCM Hospital. I also interacted with patients and their relatives to understand their concerns. The services provided by doctors, nurses, and staff were found to be satisfactory. The municipal corporation remains committed to delivering more efficient, accessible, and high-quality healthcare services to citizens,” said Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi.
