Three New Municipal Corporations to be Formed in Pune District, Including Chakan and Hinjewadi; Announcement by Ajit Pawar

Pune | Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of the district, Ajit Pawar, visited the Chakan Industrial Area on Friday morning. He inspected the civic issues in the Chakan Industrial Area. While reviewing the traffic congestion in the Chakan Industrial Area, Ajit Pawar stated that a municipal corporation would have to be formed in Chakan and the surrounding areas.
Ajit Pawar said that Chakan currently has a municipal council, but the capacity of the council is becoming insufficient to meet the development needs here. Similarly, Hinjewadi, as an IT hub and industrial area, is rapidly developing, but there too, limitations are arising in the development of basic infrastructure. Considering the growing population and mounting civic issues in Uruli Devachi, Manjari, and Fursungi, it is necessary to establish independent municipal corporations in these three places as well.
For any area with a population of more than 5 lakh, a municipal corporation can be established. As per this criterion, new municipal corporations will be formed for Chakan, Hinjewadi, and the Uruli Devachi–Manjari–Fursungi area. Whether anyone likes it or not, this decision will definitely be implemented, Ajit Pawar said.
