Pimpri | Under the initiative of Shankar Chandrabhaga Pandurang Jagtap, the MLA of Chinchwad Assembly Constituency, several crucial issues concerning PMPML employees were discussed in a recent meeting. As a result, administrative resolutions were successfully made on long-pending matters such as promotions for senior employees, disbursement of the 7th Pay Commission installment, and increase in the gratuity amount.

Promotion Path Cleared for Senior Employees

Previously, PMPML granted promotions to employees for the post of Checker based on seniority, even if they had failed the 10th standard. However, in recent promotions, only employees who had passed the 10th standard were considered, which led to dissatisfaction. On this matter, MLA Shankar Jagtap clearly demanded that “as per the earlier policy, all senior employees should be given promotions,” and a positive decision was taken accordingly.

Second Installment of the 7th Pay Commission Before Ganesh Festival

Another relief for employees is the decision to provide the second installment of the 7th Pay Commission before the Ganesh festival. This will help many employees financially during the festive season.

Proposal to Increase Gratuity Limit to be Sent to State Government

According to state rules, gratuity is currently limited to ₹14 lakhs. MLA Shankar Jagtap made a strong demand to increase this limit to ₹20 lakhs. A proposal regarding this has already been sent to the state government. A final decision will be taken after receiving feedback from the Finance Department.

There was also a positive response regarding timely gratuity for retired employees. A joint meeting with both Municipal Commissioners will be arranged to establish an effective mechanism.

As per the current system, retired employees receive only ₹2 lakhs immediately, while the remaining amount is given after a year. Due to this delay, many retired employees face hardships. Therefore, MLA Jagtap firmly instructed that “a prompt meeting with both Municipal Commissioners and the Managing Director should be held to ensure faster disbursal of the gratuity amount.”

New Bus Depot and Buses for Pimpri-Chinchwad

Considering the growing population and transport needs of the city, a strong demand was made for establishing new bus depots within the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limits. Instructions were given to reserve land within PMRDA and PCMC limits and begin the acquisition process.

Likewise, a decision was also taken to start new AC and non-AC buses in the city. Importantly, MLA Jagtap directly discussed with CMD Pankaj Devre the need for PMPML to increase its own fleet of buses instead of relying on private contractors.

MLA Shankar Jagtap stated, “Our primary objective is to resolve the problems of thousands of PMPML employees, ensure justice for them, and provide quality public transport services to the citizens. I will continue to follow up on these decisions and remain committed to their implementation.”

This important meeting was attended by Managing Director Pankaj Devre, Joint Director Narvekar, Finance Officer Yogesh Hole, Transport Manager Satish Gawhane, and other officials.
