Twin Elevated Corridors Gain Momentum: BJP MLAs Mahesh Landge and Shankar Jagtap Push for Pimpri-Chinchwad’s Infrastructure Leap
Nashik Phata-Khed and Ravet-Narhe projects worth over ₹13,500 crore set to transform connectivity, ease traffic congestion, and fuel economic growth in Pimpri-Chinchwad and Pune
Pimpri-Chinchwad : In a major boost to Pimpri-Chinchwad’s infrastructure ambitions, two long-pending elevated corridor projects—the 30-km Nashik Phata-Khed corridor on the Pune-Nashik Highway and the 32-km Ravet-Narhe corridor on the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway—have gained significant momentum following sustained efforts by BJP MLAs Mahesh Landge and Shankar Jagtap.
With a combined investment exceeding ₹13,500 crore, the projects are expected to revolutionize urban mobility in one of Maharashtra’s fastest-growing industrial and IT hubs while substantially reducing traffic congestion across key routes.
The Nashik Phata-Khed Elevated Corridor, estimated at ₹7,578 crore, will provide much-needed relief to commuters travelling through Bhosari, Moshi, Chakan and adjoining industrial belts. The corridor is expected to improve freight movement and enhance connectivity to one of India’s most important manufacturing ecosystems.
Meanwhile, the ₹6,000-crore Ravet-Narhe Elevated Corridor will significantly benefit commuters travelling between Pimpri-Chinchwad, Hinjawadi IT Park and western Pune by reducing travel time and improving connectivity along the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway.
The projects received a major push after discussions with senior officials of the National Highways Authority and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. Land acquisition and procedural clearances are being prioritised to ensure timely implementation.
Mahesh Landge: A Vision for Industrial Growth
Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge described the Nashik Phata-Khed Elevated Corridor as a transformative project for Pimpri-Chinchwad’s industrial future.
“The elevated corridor is not merely a road project; it is a growth corridor for Pimpri-Chinchwad’s industrial ecosystem. Thousands of industries in Bhosari, Moshi and Chakan will benefit from seamless connectivity. We are committed to ensuring that procedural formalities, including land acquisition and environmental clearances, are completed without causing unnecessary delays,” Landge said.
He further stated that the project would strengthen Maharashtra’s manufacturing capabilities by facilitating faster and more efficient transportation of goods and services.
Shankar Jagtap: Building Future-Ready Infrastructure
Chinchwad MLA Shankar Jagtap said the Ravet-Narhe Elevated Corridor would become a vital component of Pimpri-Chinchwad’s future transportation network.
“Pimpri-Chinchwad is expanding at an unprecedented pace. The Ravet-Narhe Elevated Corridor will address the growing traffic burden while improving connectivity between Hinjawadi, western Pune and emerging residential and commercial hubs. The Centre and the State Government are working in coordination to deliver infrastructure that meets the city’s future requirements,” Jagtap said.
He added that the project would greatly benefit daily commuters, IT professionals and businesses by ensuring faster and safer travel.
