Against this backdrop, Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi has issued an order granting public Ganesh mandals in the district permission to use loudspeakers and amplifiers from 6 a.m. to 12 midnight for seven days during Ganeshotsav, subject to compliance with noise pollution regulations.

These revised orders have been issued by amending the earlier order dated 31 January 2025 regarding exemption from the restrictions on the use of loudspeakers and amplifiers. Accordingly, for Ganeshotsav, exemption from these restrictions has been granted for a total period of seven days—Saturday 30 August, Sunday 31 August, Monday 1 September, Tuesday 2 September, Wednesday 3 September, Thursday 4 September, and Saturday 6 September.

One additional day has also been reserved for granting permission as required for important events.

It has been directed that the provisions of Rule 3 and Rule 4 of the Noise Pollution Rules 2000, and Rule 5, Sub-rule (3) of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Amended Rules 2017 must be complied with, and that the noise level should not exceed the prescribed limits as per zoning regulations.
