Pimpri-Chinchwad | Correspondent: In a significant relief for students and parents in Moshi, the long-pending classroom shortage at Savitribai Phule English Medium School in the Shivajiwadi–Dudulgaon area has finally been resolved. As many as 470 students have now secured access to proper classrooms, ensuring a smoother academic journey ahead.

The school, notably the first CBSE-affiliated English-medium institution in the merged village areas, had been struggling with severe infrastructure limitations for several years. Despite continuous follow-ups with the municipal administration since 2017, the lack of classrooms between 2020 and 2023 had completely stalled new admissions.

At one point, nearly 1,250 students were deprived of admission due to inadequate infrastructure. Even where admissions were granted, capacity constraints forced the school to limit intake to just 20 students per class instead of the standard 40 boys and 40 girls.

The issue was persistently raised by BJP leader and MLA Mahesh Landge, whose efforts have now borne fruit. The municipal land and estate department has allocated the required classrooms, which have been officially handed over to the education department.

The school will now operate from a section of an upcoming educational complex being developed by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. Authorities have assured that all necessary facilities will be provided to ensure a conducive learning environment.

Located near Shri Nageshwar Temple in Moshi, the school offers education from Senior KG to Class 9. With the availability of new classrooms, students now have access to improved infrastructure, bringing relief to parents and strengthening the local education ecosystem.

This development is expected to prevent further academic disruption and marks a major step forward in enhancing educational access in the Moshi region.

“For the past few years, the lack of classrooms was severely affecting our children’s education. Even after securing admission, the absence of proper facilities was a constant concern. With classrooms now available, our children can finally study in a safe and appropriate environment. This brings immense relief to us as parents.”

After consistent follow-up, the municipal administration has taken a positive decision and provided the necessary infrastructure. We remain committed to further strengthening educational facilities in the region.”
