Actor Yash, who plays Ravana in director Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited film Ramayana, has revealed an interesting behind-the-scenes story about how he prepared for one of Indian cinema’s most iconic characters.

Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con alongside Ranbir Kapoor, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra, Yash shared that he completely changed the atmosphere on the film’s set to stay connected with Ravana’s mindset throughout the shoot.
According to the actor, he remained extremely serious during filming and lived entirely in the character to deliver an authentic performance.
“I used to transform the entire atmosphere on the set. During that period, I was very serious and completely lived as my character,” Yash said.

He further revealed that he carried large speakers to the set and played Lord Shiva devotional songs at a high volume throughout the day. Since Ravana is considered one of Lord Shiva’s greatest devotees, Yash believed it was essential to remain in that spiritual and emotional state while filming.
“I always played Shiva devotional music. Ravana was a supreme devotee of Lord Shiva. Staying in that devotional mindset was necessary for me. The music was so loud that people had to make an extra effort just to speak with me,” he added.
Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who portrays Lord Rama in the film, said that although he has not yet filmed scenes with Yash, several crew members had spoken about the unique energy Yash created on the set.
“Many people told me that Yash’s music completely changed the energy of the set,” Ranbir said.
Ramayana Release Date
The epic film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita and Yash as Ravana. Ramayana is scheduled for a Diwali release, making it one of the most anticipated Indian films of the year.
Ramayana Trailer Update
Reports suggest that the film’s official trailer, which was initially expected to release on July 24, was postponed due to scheduling related to Sony Pictures’ release strategy.
According to reports, the Ramayana trailer may now be released on July 30, coinciding with the Indian release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, allowing the makers to reach a wider audience.
