Pune Airport witnessed a remarkable jump in both international and domestic traffic in September–October 2025. International passengers doubled to over 28,000, while domestic flyers crossed 8.8 lakh—marking Pune’s rise as a major aviation hub.

Pune:
has delivered a “double dhamaka” in aviation growth this year, with both domestic and international travel showing a significant rise. Newly released data from Pune Airport reveals that passenger movement and flight operations surged considerably in 2025 compared to last year.

International Passenger Traffic Doubles

In September 2024, Pune recorded 12,877 international passengers.
In September 2025, the number skyrocketed to 22,308.

Similarly:

  • October 2024: 14,238 passengers

  • October 2025: 28,258 passengers

Airport officials confirm that nearly every month has recorded similar trends, indicating a sustained increase in outbound international travel for tourism, education, business and holiday breaks.

Domestic Passenger Traffic Also Rises Sharply

  • September 2024: 8,23,296 passengers

  • September 2025: 8,50,214 passengers

  • October 2024: 8,44,991

  • October 2025: 8,89,264

Domestic air travel continues to grow as Pune expands as a corporate, educational and tech hub.

International Flights Double

  • September 2024: 109 flights

  • September 2025: 202 flights

  • October 2024: 105 flights

  • October 2025: 222 flights

Domestic Flights Up as Well

  • September 2024: 5,473 flights

  • October 2024: 5,698

Airport officials say the steep rise in passenger demand proves Pune’s growing importance as a global aviation touchpoint, not just a domestic travel center.

“The doubling of international passengers shows Pune’s emergence as a global hub. With increasing demand, we are committed to expanding airport facilities and improving service quality,” the airport authority said.
