Chhattisgarh Naxal Surrender | 208 Naxalites Lay Down Arms in Bastar
110 women among those surrendered; 153 weapons deposited as ultras join mainstream
Jagdalpur (Chhattisgarh):
In a historic mass surrender, as many as 208 Naxalites, including 110 women, laid down their arms at the Reserve Police Line in Jagdalpur on Friday. The move is seen as a major setback to the banned outfit CPI

(Maoist) operating in the Bastar region.
Among those who surrendered was senior Maoist leader Rupesh, who handed over 153 weapons, including AK-47s, INSAS rifles, and a barrel grenade launcher.
The Naxalites were brought to the venue in buses and welcomed in a formal ceremony named “Punha Margem” (Back to the Right Path). Each surrendered cadre was presented with a copy of the Indian Constitution and a rose, symbolizing their return to peace and integration into the mainstream society.
