Abhishek Sharma Injured Early in IND vs ZIM Clash

Team India suffered a major injury scare in the opening match of the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe after all-rounder Abhishek Sharma was forced to leave the field in the third over following a painful wrist injury.

Playing at the Harare Sports Club, India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to field first. However, the visitors’ plans were disrupted early when Abhishek sustained an injury while attempting a difficult catch at point.

The incident occurred during the third over bowled by Mayank Yadav. On the second delivery of the over, Zimbabwe batter Dion Myers struck a powerful shot towards the point region. Abhishek Sharma reacted quickly and tried to complete the catch, but the ball travelled at tremendous speed.

Unable to judge the pace perfectly, the catch slipped from his hands before the ball struck his wrist hard. The impact left the Indian all-rounder in visible pain, forcing the team physio to rush onto the field for immediate medical attention.

Although the delivery was later declared a no-ball, the injury proved serious enough for Abhishek Sharma to walk off the field, raising concerns over his availability for the remainder of the match.

Team India will now await further medical assessment to determine the severity of the wrist injury and whether the left-handed all-rounder will be fit to continue in the series.
