Alert Issued Along Konkan Coast After Delhi Blast; Security Tightened at 525 Landing Points
Following the Delhi explosion, Ratnagiri police strengthen coastal surveillance and conduct joint checks with Coast Guard and Customs across Maharashtra’s Konkan region.

Ratnagiri (Maharashtra):
In the aftermath of the deadly blast in Delhi’s Red Fort area on Monday evening, the Ratnagiri District Police have issued a high-level security alert across the Konkan coastline.
Authorities have identified 525 coastal landing points in the Konkan region and enhanced security measures at all these sites. Police teams have intensified coastal patrolling, while anti-sabotage and bomb-detection squads are inspecting vital installations including ports, bridges, and tourist locations.
The Coast Guard, Customs, and local police are jointly conducting patrols across the Arabian Sea shoreline. Fishing boats venturing into the sea are being closely monitored, with checks carried out at Mirkarwada Jetty, Bhatye Beach, and other coastal areas in Ratnagiri.
Police have appealed to citizens to immediately report any suspicious activities or objects to nearby police stations.
According to Inspector General Sanjay Darade, the Konkan region has been placed on high alert, citing the sensitive nature of the coastline and past incidents.
He recalled that in 1993, RDX explosives were smuggled through the coastal town of Shrivardhan in Raigad, later used in the Mumbai serial blasts, emphasizing the need for strict vigilance.
As a precautionary measure, night blockades and inspections have been intensified in Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, and Raigad districts, with all security agencies maintaining heightened readiness.
