Love and War vs Toxic: Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Film Postponed to Avoid Clash with Yash’s Action Drama
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited “Love and War” to skip Eid 2026 release; new release window expected in summer 2026.
Mumbai, October 31, 2025:
There’s a new twist in the Bollywood release calendar. Superstar Yash’s upcoming action thriller “Toxic” and Ranbir Kapoor–Alia Bhatt’s “Love and War” were previously set to clash at the box office during Eid 2026. However, according to fresh reports, the makers of Love and War have decided to postpone the release to avoid a major box-office showdown.
Why was “Love and War” postponed?
Sources reveal that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Love and War has fallen behind schedule due to its extensive shooting timeline. Around 75 days of shooting reportedly remain.
An insider quoted in media reports said,
“It’s actually a blessing in disguise. There’s no point in releasing two major pan-India films together. Bhansali has asked Ranbir, Alia, and Vicky to reserve dates till the summer of 2026 so that the shoot can be completed and post-production work can progress smoothly.”
With this change, Love and War will now avoid clashing with Toxic, which remains one of the most anticipated action films of 2026 starring KGF fame Yash.
About the Film “Love and War”
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Love and War stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles. This marks the first-ever collaboration between the three actors in a Bhansali film, making it one of Bollywood’s most awaited projects.
The film was originally planned for an Eid 2026 release, but is now likely to hit theatres around June 2026.
