The Advice from ‘This’ Famous Actor That Changed Akshay’s Life
During an appearance on Rajat Sharma’s show *Aap Ki Adalat*, Akshay Kumar revealed that a famous actor had once advised him to pursue a career in films. Akshay Kumar used to work as a lightman under a photographer named Jay Sheth. At that time, major stars such as Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Sangeeta Bijlani, and Govinda would visit Jay Sheth for their photoshoots. Akshay Kumar’s job was to position the lights to illuminate their faces while their photographs were being taken. One day, when Govinda arrived for a photoshoot, he looked at Akshay and remarked, “Hey, you look good… you should become a hero!” This simple sentence proved to be nothing short of a mantra for Akshay. Subsequently, while pursuing modeling, he began auditioning for roles. He made his cinematic debut with the film *Aaj*. Since then, he has starred in over 150 films—including *Saugandh* (1991), *Khiladi* (1992), *Deedar* (1992), and *Waqt Hamara Hai* (1993)—and his successful acting career continues to thrive with undiminished vigor to this day. He has captivated the hearts of audiences not merely as an ‘action hero,’ but also through his performances in romantic and comedic roles.
