However, considering future challenges, some changes have been made in the distribution of commercial LPG. The government has decided to provide an additional 10% quota of commercial LPG cylinders to states. This move is expected to bring relief to small hotel businesses and restaurant owners.

Meanwhile, domestic gas production in the country has seen a significant rise of around 40%, officials said. Despite this increase, they noted that both global and domestic situations remain concerning, keeping pressure on LPG supply.

The government has urged citizens to switch to PNG connections wherever available instead of using LPG cylinders.

There has also been a sharp increase in online gas bookings. On March 18, as much as 93% of total LPG bookings were made online. The government has advised people to avoid visiting gas agencies physically.

To curb black marketing, strict measures have been implemented. Surprise inspections have been carried out at around 2,300 gas agencies across the country.
