Inauguration of Pay & Park and WhatsApp Parking Service in Pimpri-Chinchwad
Pimpri | The Pay & Park and WhatsApp-based parking facilities of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) were inaugurated on Tuesday (8th) by Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh. With this launch, vehicle owners will now be able to book parking spaces more conveniently.
Using this facility, vehicle users can book a parking space by sending a WhatsApp message to 8624925934. The booking is made in the user’s name for a specific time slot. If the vehicle is not parked within the booked time, the user will receive an immediate notification, and the slot will be released for other users.
The service has been launched at ten locations in the city: Pimple Saudagar, Nashik Phata, Empire Estate, Nigdi, and Bhakti-Shakti, among others. This will help save time spent searching for parking.
Through this service, users will receive real-time parking updates on WhatsApp, and smart alerts will assist in time management. The process aims to bring efficiency and reduce delays in parking.
According to Deputy City Engineer of PCMC’s Urban Transport Department, Bapusaheb Gaikwad, this initiative is also expected to improve overall traffic management in the city.
It is noteworthy that the parking booking facility was already available via mobile apps and QR codes earlier.
