BJP MLA Mahesh Landge has taken a firm stand regarding Metro connectivity for Bhosari, declaring that there will be “no compromise” on the citizens’ right to this service. He emphasized that the Metro route must cater to the needs of the approximately five lakh residents of the Bhosari and Dighi areas.

MLA Landge strongly raised the issue of Metro connectivity for Bhosari during the presentation ceremony of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Bhakti-Shakti–Wakad–Nashik Phata–Chakan Metro corridor under Pune Metro Phase-2. The event was attended by dignitaries including MP Shrirang Barne, Shankar Jagtap, MLA Uma Khapre, Deputy Mayor Sharmila Babar, Ruling Party Leader Shitole, Leader of Opposition Bhau Saheb Bhoir, Standing Committee Chairman Abhishek Bhausaheb, Maha-Metro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar, and Additional Commissioner Trupti.

While clarifying his stance on the Metro route, MLA Landge stated that ensuring Metro connectivity is essential, keeping in mind the convenience of the lakhs of citizens in Bhosari and Dighi. Although Maha-Metro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar indicated that the proposed Metro route for Bhosari might require further planning and time, Landge insisted that the residents of Bhosari and Dighi—numbering around five lakh—must receive the Metro service that is rightfully theirs. “The welfare of citizens is of paramount importance to them,” stated MLA Landge unequivocally.

The Chief Minister is personally addressing the issue of Metro connectivity and has scheduled a dedicated meeting to review it. Technical, financial, and administrative aspects are under detailed consideration, and a final decision will be reached soon. Pimpri-Chinchwad is expanding rapidly; considering the population in areas like Bhosari MIDC, Moshi, Charholi, Dighi, and the Alandi Road market belt, the aim is to extend the Metro network to cover all these regions to meet future needs. Thus, Metro connectivity is not merely a local issue for Bhosari but a matter crucial to the city’s future development.

“We are committed to ensuring that the residents of this area—a population of around five lakh—receive the Metro service they deserve. We will not allow this region to be deprived of Metro connectivity. A meeting will be held under the guidance of the Hon. Chief Minister to make a decision in the best interest of the citizens.”
