Among the losses, even advanced fighter jets like the F-35 Lightning II are reportedly affected, raising concerns about the effectiveness of U.S. operations. Iran’s air defense systems are said to have successfully intercepted several drones, which are typically equipped with precision-strike missiles and capable of long-duration flights.
Additionally, three F-15 Eagle jets were reportedly downed in a friendly-fire incident involving Kuwait, while a KC-135 Stratotanker crashed during a mid-air refueling mission, resulting in casualties.
These developments have sparked debate within the U.S., with growing scrutiny of former President Donald Trump’s earlier claims of a swift and decisive victory. While some experts believe the U.S. may escalate operations with more advanced deployments, others suggest a possible shift toward diplomatic negotiations through international platforms like the United Nations.
