Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Elections: 16.03% Voter Turnout Recorded in First Four Hours
Over 2.74 Lakh Voters Cast Their Votes by 11:30 AM; Brief EVM Glitches Reported

Polling for the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) elections began at 7:30 AM today. According to election authorities, a total voter turnout of 16.03 percent was recorded across the city within the first four hours, up to 11:30 AM.
As per official data, 2,74,664 voters exercised their right to vote during this period. This included 1,62,125 male voters, 1,12,536 female voters, and 3 voters from other categories.
The total electorate in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation area stands at 17,13,891 voters, comprising 9,05,728 men, 8,07,966 women, and 197 other voters.
Meanwhile, reports emerged from several polling stations where Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) temporarily malfunctioned, causing brief delays and forcing voters to wait. However, election officials promptly addressed the issues, ensuring that the voting process continued smoothly.
The election administration expects voter turnout to increase during the afternoon and evening hours and has appealed to citizens to actively participate and strengthen democracy.
