Parth Pawar : A major development has emerged in the high-profile Mundhwa land deal case in Pune. The state government-appointed committee headed by senior IAS officer Vikas Kharge has submitted its report, granting a clean chit to Parth Pawar, son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. This has brought significant relief to Parth Pawar, whose name had surfaced during the investigation.

The case pertains to the purchase of around 40 acres of Mahar Vatan land in Mundhwa, Pune, which was allegedly bought for ₹300 crore despite having a market value of nearly ₹1,800 crore. Parth Pawar’s company, Amedea, was named during the controversy, raising questions over the transaction and the large concessions received under the pretext of developing an IT park.

According to the Kharge Committee report, there is no direct involvement or signature of Parth Pawar in the land transaction. As a result, he has been cleared of any wrongdoing. However, the committee held Digvijay Patil responsible and recommended recovery of ₹21 crore as stamp duty for wrongly availed concessions.

The inquiry also found violations of rules in the transaction. Action has been taken against several officials, including the suspension of then-Tahsildar Suryakant Yewale and Sub-Registrar Ravindra Taru. The main accused land seller, Sheetal Tejwani, has been arrested in connection with the case.

The report marks a crucial turn in the politically sensitive land deal case, shifting accountability away from Parth Pawar while recommending strict action against those found guilty.
