In the Wake of Heavy Rainfall, Officials and Employees Appointed for Emergency Operations
Will Remain Active in Three Shifts, Orders by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh

Pimpri Chinchwad | Continuous heavy rainfall is occurring in the Pimpri Chinchwad city area as well as in the catchment areas of dams. Due to the water discharge from the dams on the Pavana, Mula, and Indrayani rivers flowing through the city, the water levels of the rivers are rising. Against this backdrop, special measures have been taken by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to manage potential disaster situations and emergencies. As per the orders of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh, officers and employees have been appointed in three shifts for emergency management.
The appointed officers and employees must remain in constant contact with the Disaster Management Department, stay alert for citizens’ safety, and carry out relief operations immediately and in coordination as per the situation, stated Commissioner Shekhar Singh in his directive. Also, citizens have been urged by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to avoid going to dangerous spots during heavy rainfall and to contact the Municipal Disaster Management Control Room in case of any emergency.

Teams have been deployed at the regional offices of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to handle emergency situations. Regional officers have conducted inspections in riverside ghat areas. Special attention is being given to those areas where rising river water levels may create flood situations. Citizens are being given instructions to remain alert through loudspeaker announcements.
