Good News for Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad Residents: Much-Awaited Flyover to Be Inaugurated Tomorrow!

Pune: Here’s a relief for Pune residents! One of the city’s busiest and most traffic-congested routes—between Pune University Chowk and RBI Chowk—is all set to get smoother. The newly constructed flyover on this stretch will be officially inaugurated tomorrow, August 20, 2025.

Today, a detailed inspection of the flyover was conducted in the presence of PMRDA Commissioner Mr. Yogesh Mhase, senior officials from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), traffic police officers, and the project contractors. The team closely reviewed the construction quality, traffic management, safety measures, and commuter convenience during the inspection.

A Relief for Commuters and Citizens:

• Freedom from Traffic Jams: This project will provide major relief from traffic congestion for vehicles traveling via Pune University Chowk, Senapati Bapat Road, Khadki, and Shivajinagar.

• Time-Saving: Thousands of daily commuters on this route will now enjoy faster and more efficient travel.

• Reduced Pollution: As vehicles will no longer have to halt at traffic signals, a significant reduction in carbon emissions is expected.

• Improved Emergency Services: The route will now be more accessible and quicker for ambulances, fire brigades, and police vehicles.

• Length: Approximately 2.1 kilometers

• Dual Carriageway: Separate lanes for both directions of traffic

• Smart Lighting and CCTV Surveillance

• Eco-Friendly Design: Includes organic water management and green corridors

The project has been completed through the joint efforts of PMRDA, PMC, and other government agencies.
